From an Aztec ritual to the vibrant fiestas of today's Jalisco, from the Spanish influenced tropics of Veracruz to the flirtatious
and conflictive realities of the Chicano experience, Danza Floricanto/USA presents the bold, colorful panorama of its Mexican
Heritage as it interacts with its American reality. Founded in 1975, this award-winning company has been enthusiastically received
on tour throughout California and the American Southwest.

A NEFA Production Project - "Fandango Without Borders" artistic director Gema Sandoval and Danza Floricanto/USA,
join forces with Chicano music's leading proponent Quetzal Flores and his band, Quetzal, to create an evening of both traditional
and contemporary dance, music and song inspired by the music from Veracruz, Mexico. The artistic journey spans from the time of the
large Mexican folk dance to the contemporary segment which highlights the resurgence of the "son Jarocho" reaffirming its Spanish as
well as its indigenous and African roots and the seminal influence of the "Chicano Sound."
